Hello, I've been trying for two days to fix something on my Seat Leon, manufactured in 2001.
I tried in vain to program the two remote keys to the control unit.
"First, the immobilizer and the comfort control unit were broken. I replaced them with new ones. I programmed the immobilizer following the instructions from openobd. However, the engine still won't start, or the immobilizer isn't disengaging. Can anyone tell me how to program the two keys? Or is there anything special I need to be aware of? It would be very helpful if someone could send me instructions on how to do it."

Hi, the search function is your best friend. And then I can't quite understand what you want? Do you want to adjust the Wireless Frequency Settings (WFS) for both keys, or do you want to re-pair the remote control? There is a lot of material available for the WFS.
See the links in my post!

Okay, so here's the problem: the immobilizer can't be programmed. I've already tried all sorts of instructions. But the immobilizer just doesn't seem to work properly. It also keeps giving me a connection error when I try to log into the control unit with the 5-digit code . The 5-digit code is the one that came with it. I've also tried the one from the old immobilizer, but it doesn't accept that either. A friend says I absolutely need the 7-digit code. Could that be the case, and how do I get it? Because, according to the Seat dealership, they are the only ones who can provide it!

If a connection is lost, the code is incorrect, or your VAG-COM version is shareware or not entirely 'legitimate'. What, or where, are you actually trying to program the WFS?

Mulle, only the former option is relevant. The shareware allows login without any problems.
audidriver, could you please provide us with a complete diagnostic report (a full vehicle scan)?
How did you train the WFS without code? Whether it's a 7-digit or 4-digit login doesn't matter, as long as it's correct. The 7-digit code is just an encrypted version of the 4-digit code.

Hello, I have the VAG Com 603.7 version with HEX and CAN from Dieselschrauber Shop. The 4-digit code was included with the new keys and the immobilizer. The reason I want to program the immobilizer is simple: the indicator light in the dashboard display doesn't turn off.
I then encountered the following error in memory 01176: "key not authorized," and then another error: "engine control unit not authorized." Which shareware are you referring to, and where can I get it?

I thought you might have a VAG-COM shareware.
Please provide us with a complete diagnostic report (auto-scan) and then tell us which instructions you are following to try and program the keys.

Leon, model year 2001, is still running WFS II. Go to Control Unit -> Login -> MWB 21 and delete all the keys. Then, enter the number of new keys, save the changes. Next, go to Engine Control Unit -> Adaptation, Channel 0, and clear all the learning values. Finally, clear any error codes from both the instrument cluster (KI) and the engine control unit (MSG), and you're done.
Remember to include the zero before the four-digit number. So always use 0xxxx .

You are mistaken. WFS-III was introduced in the Leon/Toledo (1M) model with the model year 2002, and as you know, this began on May 1, 2001. Therefore, a 2001 model year could very well be either WFS-II or WFS-III, although WFS-III is more likely.
That's why I'm also explicitly asking about the diagnostic protocol (auto-scan).

Therefore, the explicit question about the diagnostic protocol (auto-scan).
Then, of course, he needs to be trained on WFS III. But with limited information, an accurate fault diagnosis is also not possible.

Logically, this is because the vehicle is equipped with WFS-III, and the instrument cluster has not yet received the vehicle identification number from the engine control unit.

We therefore assume that the engine control unit still contains the original vehicle identification number (VIN) and immobilizer identification (WFS.ID). Is the PIN (secret code for working on the immobilizer) for the vehicle or engine control unit known? If so, what happens when you log in to the engine control unit using this PIN (VAG-COM > Selection > 01 - Engine > Login - 11)? Pay attention to the small gear in the upper left corner; does it rotate smoothly, or is the connection interrupted?

The instrument cluster is a brand new part, meaning it has never been connected to a vehicle before. Is the PIN (security code for accessing the instrument cluster) known for this new instrument cluster? If so, what happens when you log in to the instrument cluster using this PIN (VAG-COM > Selection > 17 - Instrument Cluster > Login - 11)? Pay attention to the small wheel in the upper left corner; does it rotate smoothly, or does the connection drop?

A 5-digit PIN was included with the keys. When I try to log in using this PIN in the instrument cluster, it takes a while, and then the connection is interrupted. Or is this the wrong PIN that came with the keys? I'm now trying to log in to the engine control unit. Where can you get a new PIN if the one you have is incorrect?

It is NEVER a 5-digit login printed on a keychain. The number you are referring to is the key number, and it has nothing to do with the immobilizer system.
audidriver wrote: | | Where does one actually get a new PIN if the current one is incorrect? |
A Seat dealer can technically obtain both PINs for you via fax.
Okay, first of all, your problem is the missing or incorrect PINs - then we can look at other things.
