High

Which VW badge does the Passat 3C Highline have?

I'm having trouble understanding the numbers.

I know that Trend, Comfort, and Sportline have a "normal" badge:

and the Highline version with an EXTRA ring and chrome grilles.

Thank you.

Hi Martin,

the grill with the chrome trim has the part number TN 3C0 853 651 D PWF.
The VW emblem is a bit more tricky to find.
There are two sizes: 130mm (3C0 853 601 JZA) and 150mm (1K5 853 600 MQH).
To make the 130mm emblem fit in the grill, the adapter 3C0 853 347 RYP will probably be needed.
What's puzzling me about the 150mm emblem is the beginning of the part number with 1K5.

If you already have the chassis number, we could check that exactly.
To be on the safe side, I would wait until you have the car

I've also been doing some research:

The 1K5 is from the Jetta, which ALWAYS has the ring.
The 150mm also fit, because it's bigger.
I don't know what the adapter is for, and why there's also a 5M0 part number.

I'll just order a "Highline Grill with part number", and then the parts people will be to blame if it doesn't fit.

I want to take the grill with me to the car city, so I don't even have to worry about the original Sportline grill being sold, especially since it's supposed to be sold.

Can anyone tell me how easy it is to replace: In Etzold it says "6 and 2 screws to loosen and pull upwards"
... without clips?
... what kind of screws?
... can you do it at night with a headlamp?

Yes, I know, I'm just... 8)

m;

P.S.: The FIN doesn't mean anything, because it only shows the equipment code of the Sportline grill.

Okay, here are the images for the grill and emblem as promised.

The size of the Torx screw is unfortunately not specified.

Thank you for the pictures.

I'll be going back to the dealer tomorrow to take a closer look.
I already have the Torxe from T6 to T60 in my "carry-on luggage" ;)

The question was mainly directed at the 17652 clips that hold the grill in the front, which can only be removed with 20 specially trained assistants.

Am I allowed to disassemble the "Individual" in the showroom for testing purposes? icon_twisted.gif

No clips icon_wink.gif.
But you need a 2 Nm torque wrench icon_twisted.gif .

2 Nm?

Too bad, my little one only starts at 5 Nm, and my key bone breaks at a much higher value. Also, I could only tighten 2 screws...

Thanks, I'll order it tomorrow and it will be installed in WOB next Saturday.

Okay, I was at the dealer.

The grill has 8 (EIGHT) screws on top 8O

What do the 2 screws that I have highlighted in green, that I shouldn't remove, do?

Otherwise, they are all T25 - the bottom ones are accessible from diagonally-down-front.

Maybe the distance warning system?
Or even the system that carries the vehicle data?

Incidentally, only the Highline has this ring around the VW logo.

NE

Screw number 7 and 8 also have the Trendline's cheap reimport in the showroom (FIN with an "P" in it, so not built in Emden).

I think the Highline has the 1K5... character, because the (visually) additional ring around the VW logo appears very firmly attached to the logo, and the Jetta also has the ring and the 1K5.

Otherwise, I don't know what the PR numbers are supposed to mean, because after that, a Passat without GRA doesn't even have a VW logo icon_smile.gif
8T0 - without GRA (there's no logo for this)
8T2 - GRA
8T3 - GRA with radar

I ordered the grille, and then the parts guy ordered the logo after...

So,

The 3C Highline has the VW logo: 1K5 853 600

Attached is a picture of what it looks like loose (the outer chrome ring is a fixed part of the logo)

With a lot of fiddling, you can also clip it into the grill ;)

Okay,

I don't like the Highline VW anymore - it also has a stone chip.

Next, I'll try the one for ACC, which should be 3C0 853 601.
