High
What VW badge does the Passat 3C Highline have?
I'm having trouble understanding these numbers.
I only know that Trend, Comfort, and Sportline are "normal" versions.
and the Highline version with an EXTRA ring and the chrome trim on the grill.
Thank you.

Hi Martin,
The grill with the chrome trim has the part number 3C0 853 651 D PWF.
The VW emblem is a bit more intricate.
There are two sizes: 130mm (part number 3C0 853 601 JZA) and 150mm (part number 1K5 853 600 MQH).
In order for the 130mm emblem to fit into the grille, the adapter 3C0 853 347 RYP will likely be required.
What makes me suspicious about the 150mm emblem is the beginning of the TN number, which starts with "1K5".
If you already have the vehicle identification number (VIN), we could look up the exact details.
To be on the safe side, I would wait until you have the car .

I once did some unconventional research as well:
The 1K5 is from the Jetta, which ALWAYS has the ring.
The 150mm ones will fit too, because it's larger.
I don't know what the adapter is supposed to do, or why there's also a 5M0 character.
I'm just going to order a "Highline grill with markings," and then it's the parts people's fault if it doesn't fit.
I want to take the grill with me to the car city so that I don't have to ship the original Sportline grill 800 km across the country, especially since it's going to be sold anyway.
Can anyone tell me how easy it is to replace? The instructions say, "Loosen 6 screws and 2 bolts, then pull upwards."
... completely without clips?
... what kind of screws?
... Can you do that at night with a headlamp?
Ja, ich weiss, ich bin ....
m;
PS: The FIN (vehicle identification number) doesn't provide any useful information, as it only contains the equipment code for the Sportline grill.

Thank you for the pictures.
I'm going to see the dealer again tomorrow and I'll take a closer look at it.
I already have Torx screwdrivers from T6 to T60 in my "carry-on" .
The question was more directed at the potential 17,652 clips that hold the grill in place at the front, and which can only be removed with the help of 20 specially trained assistants.
Can I, perhaps, disassemble the Individual in the showroom for testing purposes?

No clips .
But you need a torque wrench for 2 Nm .

2 Nm?
Damn, mine only starts at 5 Nm, and my clavicle breaks at significantly more. Besides, I would only be able to tighten 2 screws then...
Okay, then I'll place the order tomorrow, and the installation will be done next Saturday in WOB.

I was at the dealership.
The grill has 8 (EIGHT) screws on the top .
What do the two screws, which you are not supposed to loosen/unscrew (?), that I have highlighted in green, hold in place?
Otherwise, they are all T25 screws, and the ones at the bottom can be reached from a slightly lower and forward angle.

Possibly the distance warning system?
Or even the entity that holds the vehicle data?
By the way, only the Highline model has this intermediate ring around the VW logo.

NE
Screw numbers 7 and 8 are also available as budget-friendly reimports in the showroom (FIN with a "P" in it, so not built in Emden).
I think the Highline has the 1K5 badge because the (visually) additional ring around the VW logo appears to be very firmly attached to the badge, and the Jetta also has the ring and the 1K5 badge.
Otherwise, I don't know what the PR numbers are for, because, according to that, a Passat without a GRA (German Road Tax) sticker doesn't have a VW emblem .
8T0 - without GRA (there is no symbol for this).
8T2 - GRA
8T3 - GRA with distance radar.
I ordered the grill, and then the guy in charge ordered the sign afterwards...

Okay,
The 3C Highline has the VW part number: 1K5 853 600.
Here's a picture showing how it looks when it's loose (the outer chrome ring is an integral part of the design).
With a bit of fiddling, you can also clip it into the grill .

Okay.
I don't like the Highline VW anymore - it also has some stone chips.
Next, I'm going to install the part for the ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), which should be part number 3C0 853 601.
