Hello, I'm having a small problem with the switched + for the radio. I connected the lighting (LDA) to the radio. Now the lamp is broken, and after replacing it, nothing works anymore. There's a constant + and a - connection, but the switched + through the ignition is no longer working. Why? Fuse 22 is okay, and everything else is working. Where else can I look, or which cable can I tap into to power the radio?
Best regards,

Hello!
It's possible that the radio connection in your ignition switch is faulty. You can check this by seeing if a warning buzzer works. Turn on the engine, turn on the lights, and open the doors – if the buzzer sounds, that's a good indication. Replacing the ignition switch contact isn't very expensive if that's the problem.
Best regards,
Dominique.

Yeah, and the contact is only designed to switch a relay. 3B5 AJM

Sure, and the contact is designed, at best, to activate a relay. |
But only with a varistor and a maximum operating current of 250mA.
The S-contact is designed for a maximum of 500mA. This contact in the ignition switch often burns out if "high power" devices are connected carelessly. There are some radios that are particularly prone to this issue. Gruß Bertil

Thank you for the answers; I will now get started and see what can be done. I will report back!
But first, I need to pass this cold on, it's so incredibly annoying...

Can I also switch the radio using a different 15-gauge wire? I don't want to have to constantly replace the ignition switch at the VW dealership. Which wire would be suitable?
