Hello,

We have a Golf V, manufactured in 2004, with the standard RCD 300 radio. A device was connected to the changer input.

Audio Link Bluetooth AUX VW 12-pin.

connected.

The system worked very well and cleanly after installation, but recently, the speakers in the left door have been cutting out intermittently. Adjusting the volume restores the sound.

Today, I used the newly acquired VCDS to read out the error codes.

Quote:
Address 56: Radio Label file: DRV\1K0-035-1xx-56.lbl
Part number: 1K0 035 186 J
Component: Radio BNO 0016
Coding: 0020200
Operating number: WSC 76694 150 83143
VCID: 2D56A669B4002E56C6-8078

"One error found:"
01044 - Control unit incorrectly coded.
000 - -

According to the interface manufacturer, nothing needs to be coded. Could someone tell me where to find that information?

0020200

Does this coding list apply?

Quote:

* 00?xxxx: Treble Speaker Monitoring

o 1 = Front and Rear Monitoring is inactive.
o 2 = Front monitoring active / Rear monitoring inactive.
o 3 = Front monitoring inactive / Rear monitoring active.
o 4 = Front and Rear Monitoring active.

* 00x?xxx: Radio Configuration I

o 0 = No CAN-based telephone control.
o 2 = CAN-Telephone Control

* 00xx?xx: Speaker Channels

o 0 = No passive speakers (sound system).
o 2 = 2 passive speakers (front), 0 passive speakers (rear).
4 = 4 passive speakers.

* 00xxx?x: Sound System Correction

o 0 = No Sound System (No Correction)
o 1 = Sound System with Cloth Interior (featuring Open Circuit Recognition).
o 2 = Sound system with leather interior (featuring open circuit recognition).
o 3 = Sound system with fabric interior (without open circuit recognition).

* 00xxxx?: Radio Configuration II

o +2 - CD changer/iPod input.
o +4 - CAN-Secondary Display (Board Computer/large Display)

Should the correct code then be:

0020202

Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

"lauten???"

Hello,

Yes, 20202 seems plausible to me, but I don't think the coding is the cause of the issues with the left door, especially since it was working before.

"Reactivation" caused by changes in volume (or by tapping on the console's casing) suggests, in my opinion, a simple loose connection.

Are the glitches only occurring on the front-left side?

Intermittent issues even when using the radio? (-> Cable break in the wiring harness leading to the door, loose connector in the door or at the radio, etc.)

It would be annoying if you could trigger malfunctions in your upgraded device simply by tapping it lightly... that would mean it has a defect.

To rule out potential issues with the 3.5mm jack connections (AUX input) or software errors in the Bluetooth connection, I would use a USB stick for testing.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello Rainer,

I also suspected a broken cable, as I had completely rewired the cable harness to the rear door on that car about 6 weeks ago.

I'll be testing the coding part this weekend when my son is back home; that's the easier task.

If this doesn't help, it will come to a point where I have to escalate the issue.

I unfortunately have the log file at home on my laptop. If I remember correctly, it also mentioned a sporadic error related to the door control unit and the window lifter.

That would bring us one step closer to another cable break!
