Please help, I'm still having problems with my VW Passat 3BG 4Motion TDI.
After approximately 40-60 kilometers, the warning light for the handbrake or brake still comes on.
I found this error today, but what does it actually mean?
18057
DATA BUS, drive error message, ABS control unit.
P1649-35-00
Can someone help me?
"Thank you." |

Check the CAN-Bus connection from the ABS to the engine control unit and to the speedometer. |

Can you provide a little more detail about the vehicle?
What year is it, and what kind of TDI engine does it have? |

Sure, here's the translation:
"So, it's a..."
VW Passat 1.9 TDI 130 hp All-wheel drive Sedan.
Year of manufacture: 2001, Model: 3BG.
I hope this helps. |

Self-diagnosis of the engine control unit: check data block 125, or ABS detected while stationary.
If everything is okay so far, then check if there's a '0' displayed when a message appears during communication, and see if you can still access the ABS system through diagnostics.
It's likely either a loose connection (intermittent fault) in the CAN bus wiring or a power failure to the ABS/ESP module. However, if that's the case, you wouldn't be able to access the self-diagnosis function at that moment either. |

I checked the 125 mark, and everything is okay; it's a zero.
The ABS control unit is being accessed, but no errors are visible or can be read.
Do you have any more information about this error? |

If the ABS is accessible for diagnostic purposes, and the module shows a '0' indicating no communication, then you're in for a fun time troubleshooting the wiring. |

Oh dear, please no. I hope he can be found.
I don't think it's a cable defect; I'm still hoping it's a problem with the circuit board. |

Most of the time, it's more likely a connector issue than a cable problem, unless it's something like a weasel causing damage, which you would be able to see from the outside. A4 Avant 2,5 tdi 110kw; AFB; BJ2000
