Hello.
'If you have turned off ESP, is it completely deactivated, or does it still regulate in some way? Recently, it seemed like the anti-slip function was still engaging even though ESP was turned off.'
2. Which single-cell components are part of the ESP (Electronic Stability Program)? ABS module, steering angle sensor, lateral acceleration sensor, ESP switch. Have I forgotten anything?
Regards,
Paul.

Hello,
The EDS is always active.
It's very important to consider the wheel speeds, as well as the steering rate, and of course, the control unit for your car's single-track model.
Best regards, Matthias.

For most cars, you only increase the intervention threshold of the ESP (Electronic Stability Program) when you "disable" it. It remains active even then. A4 Limu 07/96 AHU@110PS 192tkm 08/05-05/08

No, that's not the case for most people.

If it's always active, what's the purpose of the ESP switch?

I did write that. In most vehicles, it can be turned off using a switch.
Then there are some where the threshold for activation is set high. There are even vehicles where it cannot be deactivated at all, even with a switch.
What the switch definitely does is disable ASR (while EDS remains active). Disabling ASR is necessary when using snow chains, or even on some inclines, because with ASR engaged, you can sometimes get stuck where you would be able to move forward without it.
Best regards, Matthias.
