I'm still having the problem where the fuel injector on my ESP is sticking. Seat Ibiza AFN with now 323,000 kilometers (approx. 200,000 miles) on the odometer.
'I recently bought a fuel pump from an auction house for a good price. It's from a Galaxy with an AFN engine and has the end number 115 B on the back! I modified the 10-pin connector and installed it today! Apparently, the pump had been sitting there for 2 years or more, but he couldn't say for sure! Well, that's eBay for you! The pump looks good visually and, as I said, was cheap! After I installed the pump, it rattles like crazy! The vehicle runs, but you can clearly hear a rattling noise from the pump! Even when turning the crankshaft with a wrench without the engine running, you can hear a loud clacking sound when you pass the resistance point?' Has anyone ever experienced something like this before, or does anyone know what might be causing it?
I removed the pump again and, while I was at it, I checked the fuel injector on the old one! It's sticking a bit and has some scratches on it! I need to get out of here soon!
'Today, I completely disassembled the eBay pump because I suspected a broken spring or something. However, everything looked visually fine inside; there were no scratches or defects on any of the parts. Only a thin brown coating and deposits were found on the magnet (inlet port, flow control). I thoroughly cleaned the pump and also cleaned the MSW (motor stator winding). The RSW (rotor stator winding) value was 0.8 V, and I adjusted it to 0.760 V, as that's what it is on my original pump. Now, when I turn the pump with a wrench, everything seems fine. At least, I think it no longer makes a clicking sound, but only the normal resistance. The pump's shaft bearing is fine; it's disassembled, runs smoothly, and there's no rough running.' 'Anyone have any ideas before I try installing the pump again?' |
