Hello,
After reading the error memory of the Climatronic system, I found a defect. After the V71 error code appeared, I replaced the throttle valve motor myself (the motor cost 91 euros).
After I completed the initial setup, I can still hear a ticking sound. The motor seems to be still being powered.
Since this noise has been present since the purchase of the vehicle (new Golf IV TDI), I think it's normal. However, the constant actuation could have caused the gearbox of the actuator motor to fail (plastic gear, significant defect).
Okay, so, what can be said about "tickering"???
Sure, here's the translation:

My G4, manufactured in November 2000, also had that ticking sound.
I didn't do anything about it.
Now, the G5 also has something like that.
As far as I know, there's a software update available to fix that.
I haven't checked to see if mine is ticking yet.
Sure, Maxx. |

I once wrote a very detailed report in this forum that was supposed to answer all the questions.

Hi Micha,
Could you please find it for me? I haven't been able to locate it, and I'm also experiencing issues with the Golf 5/3C Climatronic display.
Okay, I'm ready. Please provide the German text you want me to translate.
The part makes a ticking sound when it's adjusting, and rattles when it encounters uneven surfaces.
Thank you.

I don't know what the f*ck it was. |

Hello,
"Mine is out of warranty, and the link is not correct!!!"
You really have to listen closely to realize that the engine is constantly adjusting its speed. If something was changed on the stepper motor, I should have received an updated version...

Hi everyone,
Here's what I wrote back then:
"Hi,
Okay, so I've now taken a look at the measurement data blocks 002-005. There is a target value and an actual value for each case.
I observed the following (Climatronic off, ignition on): The stepper motors for the Climatronic, located in blocks 002 (temperature control flap), 003 (central air flap), and 004 (footwell/defroster flap), are still being activated even when the Climatronic is turned off (i.e., "OFF" is displayed). With today's temperature of 13°C inside the car, you only need to hold your hand about 1cm in front of the grille on the climate control unit, behind which the temperature sensor is located. This will cause the motor for the temperature control flap to start running (first, the target temperature will increase, and a second later, you'll hear a ticking sound).
The ticking sound stops only when the motor reaches the target value, or gets within a deviation of plus or minus 1.
The regulation seems to be working (tested with a hairdryer, allowing it to cool down, etc.). The target and actual values always converge within a short time. I couldn't detect any kind of "overshoot."
I conclude the following from this:
1.) The workshop was unaware that the Climatronic system still powers the motors even when set to "OFF."
2.) My Climatronic servo motors are okay (no play in the potentiometer, axis, etc.).
3.) The ticking sound comes from the extremely sensitive control and operation of the stepper motors.
4.) A continuous ticking motion can be achieved by slowly warming the interior of the device using body heat (e.g., after jogging), or by allowing sunlight to gently shine on the surface. I could understand both.
5.) The slight ticking sound in my car is coming from the temperature control flap. The slightly louder ticking sound comes from the central air vent.
I hope this helps.
