Hello forum,

Simple question: Can the fuel injection pump from a VW 2.5L TDI engine with 102 hp (e.g., engine code ACV) be used in an Audi AEL 5-cylinder engine with 140 hp? The reason for my question is that the AEL and AAT engines use the same fuel injection pump, which is not easy to find used. VW fuel injection pumps, on the other hand, are easier to find and also cheaper.

Thank you very much for your help in advance.

Best regards,
Rob

I don't have a definitive answer, but you should at least enter the part numbers into the Bosch Ecat system and then compare the technical specifications of the pumps. This will at least give you a starting point to determine if it's even possible.

Guste.

Hello everyone,

Unfortunately, there is still no usable answer icon_sad.gif.
I would also like to know that, because my AEL pump is slowly starting to fail due to the biodiesel.

Okay, let's be specific again. Which pumps fit in the 140HP AEL engine? The connector doesn't matter; I'll figure out how to modify it icon_wink.gif.
I currently have the Audi 046 130 108 G / Bosch 0 460 415 989 installed.
I could possibly get a new VW 074 130 115 B / BX (which should be the Bosch 0 460 415 983) at a good price, but unfortunately, I have no idea if it's just a matter of changing the connector, although it looks like it might fit visually.

Regards,
Kai.

Where is he?
Is resuscitation/short-term care not an option?
How is it diagnosed?

Here you can compare pumps.

However, a sealant is a more suitable way to fix leaks.

Hi Michael,

I just described the problem in a new thread. The pump leaked about a year ago, and I bought a gasket set from Bosch for €6.50. It contained about 30 gaskets, but I only replaced the quantity control unit because that's where the leak was coming from. I don't know where the other gaskets are supposed to go. I suspect that the pump has too much internal leakage, which is why it's not working properly with diesel. Having it rebuilt by a specialist would cost around €900 (I have two quotes), and I doubt they would replace the new cables (which have been damaged by biodiesel). That's why I'm looking for a new pump.
Where in this eCat are the pump data hidden? I've already looked there, but I can't find any specific information. Maybe you could try this number: 0 460 415 989. Perhaps I'm just not smart enough to find it. I did find a comparable pump with this number: 0 986 440 528, but it's only linked to the AAT. This number is almost identical to the number 0 986 440 526 for the ACV, AUF, and AYC (different connector), except for the last digit.

Regards,
Kai.

Hi.

Okay, so... the T4 pumps are optimized for lower speeds: the nominal speed is 1750 RPM.
The pumps from AAT/AEL have a speed of 2300 RPM.

Therefore, one can expect at least some differences in the camshaft, aside from potential connector incompatibility.
The engines in the T4 are optimized more for low-end torque and less for peak power.

My opinion is that it's not possible, or it's not correct.

Best regards, Michael.
