Hello.
Thanks to numerous tips from this forum, I finally decided to buy a Gates timing belt for my G3 with an AHU engine. We're proactively replacing the water pump and tensioner along with the belt as well.
Okay, so the question is, what else should be replaced or serviced? I printed out the instructions from ELSA Win. For example, it doesn't mention anything about the KW screw; should that also be included in the replacement? If so, do you have a part number and torque specification for it? What other things should be done at the same time?
Thank you.
Best regards,

You don't actually need to replace the water pump, as it doesn't run synchronously with the timing belt! You can also change it separately if you want. But do whatever you feel is best!
Check the crankshaft and water pump seals for leaks; if there are any leaks, replace them!
"VDD is pretty obvious..."
Crankshaft bolt tightening torque: 90 Nm + 90°. Part number: N 905 771 01.

- There's still a small roller between the cam and the ESP unit - replace that one too.
- Do you have a camshaft sprocket holding tool? Use something sturdy; I almost couldn't get the screw off, and then it got stuck.

Hello.
Thanks for the tips.
Do you also need to adjust the torque wrench setting if a screw with higher strength has already been installed?
Thank you.

Hello Dieselmartin.
I think I'm not going to replace them, provided that the correct ones with the high strength class are already installed.
Is it dependent on the year of construction?
Best regards,
Peter.

Hello.
It's done! The ZR and wapu are new. I managed to loosen the central screw and replaced it.
I don't know how to remove the lower timing belt cover without loosening and removing the tensioner pulley, but it wasn't a problem.
Best regards,
