Is that the control signal for the magnetic coupling?

The cables are rubbing against the air conditioning pipes, and one is almost completely worn through .

How do you do that again?

Yes, that must be the clutch.

According to my records:

Brown/Black = Ground (GND)
Green/Black = Plus.

In the photo on the left, you can see that I temporarily wrapped some Panzer tape around it.

How do I replace the cable?

Because it disappears further up in the cable harness.

I thought I could simply replace the entire plug with a new one that has 2 wires, then solder it just behind the wiring harness, put a heat shrink tube over it, and that would be it.

The cross-section of the cable now only consists of two strands of the wire and a lot of green insulation material... so, "it's necessary" (or "it has to be").
