Hello everyone,
I'm unable to find a suitable push-button switch for the dashboard (rear window heater, etc.) for a B4 (Audi 80 Avant, 1.9 TDI) that I can install to use as a remote control for my garage door.
Now, I started looking for other keyboard shortcuts and first went through the ones that were already available. The horn would probably disturb the neighbors, but the high-beam assist should work.
"Does anyone happen to have an electrical wiring diagram handy, or know off the top of their head whether the horn function and the high beam are controlled by a single cable from the steering column switch, or by separate cables? I'm trying to figure out if I can "tap into" the horn cable. Otherwise, the remote control would constantly transmit a signal whenever I turn on the high beams."
Here's the idea again: I want to use the horn button, which is electrically a button that closes when I pull the steering column switch (control lever), to additionally (via cables that still need to be installed) "press" a garage door opener that I want to install. The effect is: I briefly press the horn button, and my garage door opens

.
What do you think about it?
