Dear forum community,

First, let me briefly explain my current problem:

I lost my key fob for my Volkswagen Golf V.

Since my mechanic is asking for 700 euros to replace the keys, I initially did the following:

Okay, so I first used VAG-COM to erase the old key from the WFS (control unit 25, login, adaptation channel 01: enter 0 instead of 2, then write "00" to channel 0), and then I registered the replacement key again with the value 1.

However, I realized that even if NO key is registered to the WFS (Wireless Keyless Entry system), you can still open and close the car using the FFB (Front Door Buttons).

My question is: How can I teach the STG (System Test Generator) not to respond to the old transmitter anymore?

Is there a way to modify this in STG 46?

I would have the same problem if I bought a used folding key on eBay... I could probably program it to work with the car's system without any issues, but the remote function might not work.

I haven't been able to find anything either, so I'm turning to you now.

Thank you very much!

Correct, because WFS and FFB are separate systems.

Surely, there must be a way to modify that in the STG 46.

Correct, see... (it's identical to the Golf 4 in terms of procedure).

No, since WFS3, it is no longer possible to pair a used key fob because it has already been paired to an existing WFS system. However, the steering wheel remote control can still be easily paired.
