Immobilizer Replacement: Questions & Answers

Hello, I would like to replace the defective instrument cluster (IC/FIS) from my Audi A3 (8L) 1.8T, manufactured in 2003, which has a CAN-Bus system and IMMO3, with a new one. I have the 4-digit WFS PIN code for my current original unit.
Is this 4-digit PIN code sufficient for pairing the new key fob, or do I need to have the 4-digit PIN code regenerated into the 'new' VAG system using a 7-digit SKC code including the date, importer number, and dealer number? I am using VAG Com 402. Thank you very much for your help.

You're in the right place. And you should update your VAG-COM version.
