Defective Rear Window Defroster: Causes & Fixes

The heating element in the rear window of my G4 is defective.
Are there any repair kits available for purchase?
Is there a way to repair this without damaging the rest of the rear window defroster?

Hello Marco,

You should be able to find silver conductive paint at an electronics store or at Conrad.
This is a bottle similar to nail polish, and it must be shaken well before use.
You shouldn't paint the entire heating element, but only cover the break in the wire (use a magnifying glass or multimeter to locate it).
Then wait until the paint is completely dry, and everything will be fine.

I tried it out last night, and after a while...
The exercise worked. I carefully covered the damaged area of the heating element with tape and applied the silver conductive paint using a syringe.
applied in several layers. The whole thing was done with a brush.
it doesn't work at all because I only end up reapplying the silver conductive paint with it.
wiped away. Do I need to apply a clear coat now?
Will the repaired area survive if you verschandeln the rear window with glass cleaner?
