Hello,
I received my new VAG-COM/OBD2 professional diagnostic tool today.
I immediately tried to change the service interval to the longlife setting.
After clicking the "Reset service interval" button, the current values were read.
Now, I wanted to enter the values for each channel according to the list provided by Bertil.
However, I was only able to set the value to 0 for channel 2. I couldn't make any entries in the other channels.
What am I doing wrong?
Best regards, Benno.

I completely forgot that my Audi is an A6 B4, manufactured in April 2004, with engine code AWX.

Hi,
I'm sorry, but I cannot access external websites or specific files online. Therefore, I am unable to translate the text from the provided URL.
"That should be fine. Please post the values of adaptation channels 42 to 45 in the instrument cluster (address 17)."
Best regards, Rainer.

Hello,
I have just reviewed the channels you mentioned.
K42-15, K43-15, K44-365, K45-1
I can still only set channel 2 to 0. When I select the other channels, the entire row just turns blue.
Sure, here's the translation:
"Hello"
Benno.

Press the "Print Screen" key, then open Microsoft Paint and select "Edit" -> "Paste" from the menu.
Then save the file and insert it here as an attachment.
Regarding your problem, it seems to be either a user error or a rare occurrence.
Best regards, Rainer.

Hi,
It appears that the service reset functionality in Mr. Stange's label file is not fully implemented.
Just follow the instructions linked above and enter the values directly into the instrument cluster (address 17) using the "Adaptation" function. That's how you'll get it to work.
Best regards, Rainer.

Hello Rainer,
It actually seems like something is missing in the software.
I have just configured the LLService using the standard method, and it worked perfectly.
Please notify me when the error is fixed, so I can update.
Best regards,
Benno.

Hi Benno,
I think I already had the correct file, but just to be sure, please provide the VAG part number of your instrument cluster.
Best regards, Rainer.

Please save the attached file to the following location: C:\Kaufmann KFZ-Diagnosesysteme und Tuning\VAG-COM-RKS\Labels\RKS and let me know when it's done.

Hello Rainer,
I have just installed and tested your new label file.
However, no change can be observed.
Here's a Screenshot of my instrument cluster.

Take the updated version from here, and it should definitely work.

Hello,
I just replaced the file, but the error is still there.
I guess I'll just have to live with this bug.
Best regards,
Benno.

Hi Benno,
Are you sure you saved the file in the correct subdirectory?
Attention: In my case, for the RKS Distribution, the directory would be C:/Kaufmann Automotive Diagnostic Systems and Tuning/VAG-COM-RKS/Labels/rks/.
As a subfolder of the RKS directory.
Reason: As you can see from your problem, the automatic service reset function is not quite reliable. Mr. Stange, for whatever reason, did not include all vehicles in the original Ross-Tech label files.
This has, among other things, the consequence that for many cars, the settings that can be reset using the instructions linked at the beginning of this topic are no longer working, resulting in messages like "it doesn't work" or "I don't know how to do it."
Therefore, in cases where a label file does not exist for a particular instrument cluster, everything is moved to the RKS directory, and a generic service reset is implemented for all vehicles (i.e., a directory above, with the file "sr-17.lbl"). This is not always correct, of course, but it's still better than the meaningless "not working" message that appears on, for example, 10-year-old Audi A3s, etc.
-> If the automatic service reset fails, follow the instructions linked above.
Regarding your problem, I suspect that the label file (either the one you posted or the one linked by vagtuning) was either copied to the wrong location or, for some other reason, cannot be found. Therefore, it would be best to check one of the measurement blocks in the instrument cluster. At the top left of the dialog box, the name of the label file being used will be displayed in blue. Please post the complete path to this file.
Once you know which file is actually being used, you can examine it to see what's going wrong.
Best regards, Rainer.
