I'm having a small problem with my 1994 Passat TDI (1Z).
For a while now, I've been experiencing increased fuel consumption, excessive black smoke, and a lack of power.
The error code indicates a difference in pressure regulation (on the control side).
Around 130 km/h, even a slight headwind or a small incline can cause the vehicle to lose a significant amount of power.
After losing the first motor two years ago due to a broken pulley, and the second rebuilt motor also having problems with the wobbly pulley (fortunately, there's this milling kit and people who know about it), I'm now also experiencing this power issue.
I know a lot of knowledgeable people, but this problem looks serious.
I have now replaced the magnetic valve for boost pressure regulation, the turbocharger, and all the pressure and vacuum hoses.
The air mass sensor is also working properly.
I simply patched the AGR valve using a piece of tin and a new gasket.
(Just to test if it's the EGR valve.)
A friend of mine (who works at VW) thinks it might be the intake manifold pressure sensor in the control unit, but who knows...?
This problem seems to have occurred before as well.
I received an engine control unit (ECU) from an Audi with a 1Z engine.
Part number matches, installed, and started.
The engine started, but then immediately shut off.
Problem: Immobilizer (anti-theft device) - my car doesn't have one!
Now, my question is, is there a way to bypass this?
Do you know the flow of funds, or does anyone have a diagram of it?
If anyone has any knowledge and can help me with this, please let me know.
