My acquaintance has an Audi A6 2.5 TDI with engine code AKE.
The error log indicates a problem with the needle lift sensor. (I don't have the exact error code at hand right now). In any case, this sensor should have a resistance between 90 and 140 ohms, but it is currently measuring 340 ohms.
You can't tell from the engine's running that the injection timing might be incorrect. In diagnostic data block 4, the "actual" value shows 0.0°. Could it be that the control unit is switching to a limp-home mode?

I can't say how long he's been driving like that, because you wouldn't notice anything indicating whether the engine is running harder or softer.

Welcome to the club of broken NHGs.

No, it doesn't go into emergency mode because, as you already noted, it doesn't significantly affect the engine power. The injection timing is controlled by the ESP control unit, and logically, it's no longer quite as precise.
However, the increased consumption can be up to one liter.
The cost is €450 from Bosch, and €490 from the Audi partner (excluding installation).

Opel and Ford omitted the NHG (presumably a specific component or feature) from engines equipped with the VP44 fuel injection system.

I installed a new needle lifter today.
I only noticed in measurement block 4, under the basic settings, that when switching to...
The duty cycle gradually increases from approximately 70% to 100%, but the injection timing remains unchanged.
I've never paid this much attention to whether this is the same for other V6 engines; I've always only looked more closely at the MWB 3.
Shouldn't the duty cycle normally be at 100% immediately when switching?
late?
