VAG-COM 704.1 Update to 805: How-to Guide

Hello.

Since there are no newer versions available in the download section than 704.1, and no release updates are available online, the question arises whether I can simply upgrade to version 805 from Ross Tech, or if there are any issues, considering that the versions of the interface are supposedly vendor-specific.

Is there going to be an update available in the near future? I would always like to have the most current version with the latest label files.

Hello Andi,

Since you already have the "economy" version of the diagnostic system without CAN, you probably won't benefit much from the new UDS feature, and newer labels mostly cover newer vehicles with diagnostics via CAN.

Once the testing with the current release is complete, it will also be made available online.
Notifications will be sent as usual via newsletter or automatically through the update function of VAG-COM/VCDS.

Hello Andi,
The English versions run as fully registered versions with all dealer-related interfaces.
Initially, these translated versions are only fully functional versions when used with the corresponding interface.

Thank you for the quick feedback on the versions. I'll just wait and see when an update is released. I'm perfectly happy with the current version anyway.
That was just a thought I had, wondering if it would work or not, but you've explained it very well.
