Hello.

Unfortunately, the preheating light has recently started to illuminate intermittently.

I've read through the forum and have already tried a few things.

If the engine is still running, pour a generous amount of diesel cleaner into the almost empty fuel tank.
Otherwise, check the control elements, flow rate adjusters, and electrical wiring.
In the worst-case scenario, it may be necessary to replace the fuel injection pump.

- The diesel fuel cleaner didn't help.
- Installation of the tuning module is already underway.

The engine is running well overall; there's no misfiring or rough idling. The fuel consumption is also acceptable. However, the problem is intermittent, but it's happening more frequently.

Is this only due to the tuning box, or could it be something else?

Engine: 90 HP TDI, manufactured in 2005, with approximately 90,000 km. Equipped with a VP37 injection pump and a tuning box. Connector has 10 pins.

Best regards,

Joe.

Upper limit (code 17970).

Possible causes:
Quantity setting device misadjusted.
Quantity control device blocked by dirt.

Now the error occurs even without the box?

It seems you might have wood chips stuck in the quantity setting mechanism. You can clean it; you'll find instructions on how to do so here in the forum. It works great once it's cleaned.

Could you please send me the link? I can't find any instructions on how to clean a measuring device.

I can only find instructions for disassembling a multi-zone control panel for a VP37.

But I don't have to completely disassemble the ESP, do I?

And where does the sawdust come from???
