Cracking or creaking noises from the B-pillar, lower left/right side, when driving on uneven surfaces, and during acceleration and deceleration/load changes (only applies to 5-door models).
Cause:
The reinforcing plate in the rocker panel/sill is rubbing against the inner rear edge of the B-pillar, causing creaking or popping noises.
Solution:
- Remove the door sill trim.
- Drill a hole in the outer lower support panel.
With a spacing of a = 10 mm and a diameter of 10 mm.
- Weld the inner B-pillar, the inner reinforcing plate of the lower crossmember, and the outer lower crossmember together using a shielded gas welding process.
- Restore corrosion protection. Tschüss
