Hi

I have a 2007 Passat 3C TDI and a 2008 Golf 5 TDI, both with Climatronic.

While playing golf, I noticed (right now, at -12 degrees) that when I press the "hood release" button, nothing warm comes out.

MWB 009 and 010 contradict each other:
Feedback Heater = off, Control 0.0
but
Requirement: Heater = one

No error codes exist, and SA4 and SA6 are functioning correctly.

Does the Golf maybe not have a heater at all?

He will definitely have one, but maybe a certain condition for viewing hasn't been met. icon_question.gif

OK,

The Passat also had the same discrepancy in the measurement block values.
Nevertheless, I had the feeling that he was getting faster - but he's also taking in more diesel icon_smile.gif

I'll just keep watching.

Hello Martin,

The relays for the PTC heating elements are activated by the MSG. However, there is no connection between the relay output and the MSG, so the MSG cannot determine whether the PTC has actually been activated.

I think the feedback field was intended for the older model years (e.g., 3C 2006), where the PTC was still controlled separately via a separate STG.

Since I (thanks to STH) unfortunately don't have a PTC, I'm not familiar with the measurement values. Since these devices are activated by the MSG, I would like to check if there are any relevant measurements available.

Or, if available, measure at SA4 + 7 using a clamp meter. Alternatively, remove the fuse, activate the PTC, and re-insert the fuse, or bridge with a wire. The MSG will not notice the removed fuses and should still activate the relay. When bridging the safety point, you will then directly see the spark, indicating whether the PTC is activated icon_wink.gif

Other question: What were the conditions (besides the A-Temp) I believe that the PTCs are activated, at least, depending on the battery voltage, and possibly also depending on other conditions such as LiMa load, afterglow, etc.

Best regards
Hendrik

Without connecting anything, you can observe the generator load and see if the PTC is receiving current.

I'll just ask the Passat, if it's clearly overheating, (then) to check the Golf.

As I said, yesterday it seems like neither of the two actually used the PTC!

Batteries are too weak, and therefore the generator load is too high after starting?

This could be the case with the Passat, as it requires many rotations.
The Hell's Golf was immediately on.

I couldn't find the generator load quickly - I'll look for it next time.
