Windshield Washer Funnel: Easy & Convenient

Hi.

Thanks to Xenon, I have a black hole-shaped container (about 6 liters) that I use as a washbasin.

Once it's empty, I can first add 3 liters of antifreeze in the winter, and then add another 3 liters of water afterwards. It sloshes around because the 3-liter canister will slosh as long as it's still quite full.

IDEA: A suitable funnel that also allows for good flow, so something BIG.

What are you all currently using?
The windshield washer fluid from Aral is good, but it's so expensive that I don't want to buy any .

I was thinking of a DN100 pipe reduced to a DN40 pipe - that should fit just right.

Actually, a plastic funnel. The top is approximately 25 cm in diameter, and the spout is about 2 cm.
Where did I get it from? I have no idea anymore .

I had also considered getting a watering can.
But 1. it would then be outside, getting dirty, and 2. it would also produce a "stream" that shoots forward, going past the target. Especially if you've filled it with 6 liters.

(Stealing a pump from Aral is out of the question; besides, they have too small nozzles.)

I have both.
the red funnel, with a diameter of 20mm and a height of 150mm.
und eine graue Heizölkanne mit Wasser. Curved spout!

@ Martin, the Aral can be shortened and extended with a garden hose that has a 3/4 inch diameter.
Is it available for purchase, or can it be requested as a Christmas gift?

The simplest solution, based on my experience with Golf Xenon headlights: Disconnect the connector to the headlight washer pump and only reconnect it when there's actual snowfall. This saves a ridiculous amount of water.

Normally, I also wash the windows WITHOUT turning on the lights.
(Thanks to the power-on delay).

But even in this state, the container will eventually be empty and require a large amount of food.

What should I do with the Subi with its 12L?
It's funny that you can't see the container. All you see is a snorkel sticking out from behind the grill. It's really a "hole."

Okay, project completed .

- Cheaper than a standard funnel from a car parts store.
- perfectly fitting
- does not get stuck in the fine mesh of the filling opening.
- doesn't tip over.

Parts:
Reducer, DN110 to DN50 (socket).
Reducer, DN50 to DN40 (socket).
DN40 pipe, cut to fit, so that it doesn't sit too high.

Here's a tip to prevent spills: Containers with narrow spouts (like many windshield washer fluid canisters) can be tricky. Place your finger on the top, position the container, and then quickly remove your finger.

Yes, but that brings me back to my original problem.

My fingers aren't as thick as the approximately 40 mm opening of the 3-liter winter concentrate canisters.

And everything that my finger fits into has such a low flow rate that I freeze before the container is full.

I always use the 5-liter canisters with a 40mm spout at the top, angled upwards about 20mm. The 40mm cap is loosened slightly, the cap on the 20mm spout is unscrewed, and then just enough of a finger can fit on it.

Position everything above the filling spout, and then just let it go. With a 5-liter water tank, it's perfectly timed so that the tank is full when the canister is empty, and you don't need to stop. It takes less than a minute to transfer.

Can't a simple snorkel from a spare canister just be inserted there?
