As far as the theory goes, in practice, there's always a margin of error of a few millimeters... and that can be more than crucial.
After cleaning the MSW (Multi-Spark Waste), my 1Z wouldn't start (it wasn't due to a lack of diesel in the fuel lines). However, after moving it just a few millimeters forward, backward, left, or right, the engine suddenly started and ran smoothly again.
I would loosen the screws a bit, shift the MSW slightly (minimally), and try again. However, be careful: As far as I remember, the technical article also mentions that, in the worst case, the motor might immediately start spinning at high speed, so a second person should be at the controls and be prepared to shut it down if necessary.
