Hello.
I converted my AKE (likely referring to an Audi transmission) to a manual transmission, which naturally causes the problem that the engine control unit (ECU), originally designed for an automatic transmission, can no longer find the transmission control unit, and therefore runs the car in a limp mode. Despite changing the chip, I haven't been able to recode the darn thing to work with a manual transmission. Audi says that the control unit needs to be installed in an original car for it to function properly.
Okay, here's my question: Who would be willing to provide their car for this reprogramming, which would, of course, be done by Audi and wouldn't take long. I would, of course, cover the costs.
OR... does anyone have an engine control unit (ECU) from a 2.5L A6 TDI with engine code AKE, manufactured in 1998/1999, for a manual transmission? And of course, it must be in good working condition.
Regards,
Mike Drees.
