My friend has a SEAT Ibiza (AFN) and is experiencing the following behavior when accelerating. He notices that there's no noticeable increase in torque above 1500 rpm (subjectively). Therefore, it doesn't make a difference whether he presses the accelerator at 1500 rpm or 2000 rpm. Instead, starting at 1500 rpm, there's a faint ticking sound that transitions into a subtle whirring noise above 2000 rpm. The sound seems to be coming from the area near the footwell (passenger side).

He once had a blown fuse in the speedometer, so he replaced it. He wanted to perform a reset on the control unit because of that. How does it work again, disconnecting the battery and waiting for 5 minutes?

Hi,
Instead, there's a quiet ticking sound starting at 1500 rpm, which transitions into a subtle humming noise at 2000 rpm. The sound seems to be coming from the area near the footwell (on the passenger side).

[Warning: This is a cliché!] Of course, it's always difficult to react to noises.

However, I think I recognize that sound from my old Volkswagen Golf 3.
Could it be that your friend removed a plug from the firewall between the engine compartment and the passenger cabin (or that the plug is missing for some reason)?
Then, a subtle amount of engine noise enters the interior, which on my 1Z sounded like I was removing a plug to later install a hose for the boost gauge.
As I said, it's very hypothetical.

Pointless; reason can be found using the search function.

Loud hissing noises can indicate leaks in the turbocharger system, so check to see if any of the pressure hoses are leaking or have come loose.

Best regards, Rainer.

Thank you!

Okay, so I couldn't find anything about resetting the engine control unit (ECU)?

And this is just one example among many?

I'm hearing a sucking or whooshing sound coming from the left fender when the loader is at full load and around 1800 RPM.

The reason for this is that the engine sucks air in from the left fender. I don't know what it sounds like from the outside; it's probably drowned out by the turbo whistle. icon_cool.gif

However, the LMM probably lasts much longer because it no longer gets wet icon_wink.gif.

@ Michael II: icon_eek.gif Sorry, but I was looking for a control unit. The word 'engine control' could have also come to my mind. Well, anyway, thanks for the link. I promise to do better icon_cool.gif.
