Hi.
Between the suction nozzle and the LuFiKa, the thin "coolant return" hose runs. It has an extra thickening to prevent it from chafing. Because one end is connected to the motor and vibrates with it, while the other end is fixed to the radiator.
Unfortunately, the hose was lying around very loosely.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to calm him down?
Interestingly, it seems to be quieter when the engine cover is on, because then it presses his "engine end" slightly downwards, which keeps him firmly pressed against the intake manifold.

I don't see a problem there, or are you hearing that clattering sound? Is there a way to attach it securely nearby, perhaps using a cable tie?

I'm not sure.
However, after the last service, I've noticed a slightly different running noise, particularly around 1300 rpm. Since a sensor was replaced, I initially thought it might be due to a cable touching something. However, the replacement unit has a fixed cable routing on the valve cover.
Since the mechanics at the workshop didn't properly attach the engine cover, I'm currently driving without it, and I've discovered that the "Böppel" (presumably a specific part) is now very loose.
It's a shame so much has changed.
- New woofer (the actual reason).
- alternative engine software.
- without engine cover
Ah maybe the horn is poorly wired and resonates at 1300....

Okay, put the engine cover back on because you mentioned that it reduces vibrations! Was the horn working? I can even hear it, even though I don't hear very well, I am deaf! Of course, only when I am near the horn.

Yes, that's the second low-frequency horn my Passat has eaten.
Two failures in two years - luckily, both were covered by warranty.

I just went for another ride (it's nice and quiet at night).
Something is squeaking in the engine compartment. It could also be caused by changes to the injection parameters introduced by the software update.
It sounds more like a knocking or fluttering – perhaps it's just one of those aluminum fabric covers above the DPF.
I hate this kind of thing...

Hi Martin,
Just cut out a thick foam ring and glue it on. For years, there has been a Glitzi sponge under the air filter box of my A3, with the rough side facing the air intake.
Don't worry about the rust on the car; it's just somewhere else.
Best regards, Rainer.

I'll do something like that.
Or, you can cable-tie the part to the opening in the air duct.

Okay.
That stupid hose never stays where I push it.
Therefore, I secured him (and also the ATM throttle next to the mass airflow sensor):

Thank you .
- cheap
- works.
- If it's too tight, the insulation will be the first thing to rub away - so it won't damage any original parts.
The clip connection "thick U-shaped pipe to LuFiKa inlet" already showed clear signs of wear, so I reinforced it with original VW fabric tape. (Unfortunately, no photos were taken).

What kind of tape are you talking about? Could it be the kind I've been looking for forever? This felt material is used to wrap the cable harnesses.

Sure.
Exactly that. I searched for a long time too.

Original VW and, surprisingly, even affordable .

I wrapped a layer of it around the U-shaped tube and then clipped it back into the air filter housing. It's now firmly attached and without any rattling.

Thank you very much, Martin. You wouldn't believe how long I've been looking for it. I would never have thought to ask Volkswagen about that.
