PIN Layout Comparison: 1Z Engine Control Units

Hi,

Is there a publicly available PIN assignment for engine control units (ECUs) anywhere?

1Z, manufactured in 1996, MSA16.

against

1Z, manufactured in 1993, MSA8 from an Audi 80, with a VP37 and a potentiometer-based quantity control.

I would like to know what changes need to be made to the engine wiring harness when switching from version 1 to version 2.
I already know that the pump connector is different.

If I remember correctly, this doesn't work because of a different type of sensor used at the fuel injection pump (a potentiometer instead of an inductive sensor).

I didn't intend to mix MSG and ESP; rather, I would combine an older ESP with a compatible older MSG, using the potentiometer.
Unfortunately, there are still a few cables running between the ESP and MSG modules, and I'm very curious to know where the differences lie in the wiring harnesses.

The LMM (mass airflow sensor) is likely not compatible, although I'm not sure whether the older Audi 1Z model still uses a hot-wire LMM or the more modern hot-film version.

Did the 1Z engine in the Audi 80 have a throttle valve (air mass meter)?
I've only seen those on the 5-cylinder TDIs (AAT and AEL).

Yes, absolutely, the old 1Z engine with 182 Nm of torque and the potentiometer-controlled injection pump has an airflow meter.
I also have something like that .

Up to which production year was the air mass meter used in the 1Z model?

Starting with the 1994 model year, the cars were equipped with a mass airflow sensor, an HDK fuel pump, a different engine control unit, and a smaller turbocharger.
