Hello, regarding the replacement (pressed with appropriate tools and clamps) of the two rear left drive shafts on the Alhambra 1.9 / 115 hp, manufactured in 2001, with 133,000 km, I used an impact wrench to tighten the drive shaft screw, and then loosened it again. I then tightened it to approximately 250 Nm. That was probably not the intended procedure. icon_rolleyes.gif
What should the preload torque be before I turn it 1/4 of a revolution further?

The distinct wheel bearing noise is gone, but there's a faint, quiet, rapid, and pulsating sound that's related to wheel speed, and it's only audible when turning the steering wheel slightly to the left, and it doesn't occur constantly while driving. I'm now suspecting the drive shaft or intermediate shaft, or possibly the gear teeth on the right side.
According to a sensitive female witness, this noise had actually been occurring for some time before the wheel bearing sound, but the driver hadn't noticed it.
Can someone confirm my suspicion?
