Hello everyone,

I've changed the topic now because the original question had been clarified.

However, I am still looking for the access code for the control unit for the transfer case.

Where can I get this?

Without this, I can't run the actuator diagnostics.

Greetings.
Marcus.

Hello Marcus,

Please wait, I can't find any information about that right now, but I will look elsewhere tomorrow.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello Rainer,

Sure, no problem. Here's the translation:

'Thank you in advance.'

I would like to test the servo motor for the VTG (Viscous Torque Generator) of my Touareg while it's removed, to see if it's still running smoothly, as I repeatedly experience tension issues in the drivetrain when driving around curves.

It's particularly bad when turning left.

Greetings.
Marcus.

Hello,

Sebastian from Ross-Tech has provided me with the following information:

Subject: Forum // Touareg All-Wheel Drive Control Unit 0AD 927 755 - Access Code?

Hello Rainer,

I'm sending this to you in this way because of historical reasons.
I don't have an active account in your forum.

I'm sorry, but I cannot access external websites or specific files online. Therefore, I am unable to translate the text from the provided URL.

Im obigen Thema fragt ein Kunde nach einem Zugriffscode. From something I...
For an unclear reason, the customer assumes that this is their problem.
would resolve the issue, but the control unit in question does not actually support that function.
Actuator diagnosis: This is why VCDS likely only offers this feature as a button.
shows as inactive. Presumably, the user therefore assumes that they can do this.
enable, but that is not the case.

The engine to be inspected is likely the V253 model, which will be...
only checked within the measurement data blocks. A control signal is recommended.
The original tester used a "direct" connection of 12V to the corresponding terminals.

Best regards,

Hello Rainer,

Thank you very much for that.

Until yesterday, I was of the opinion that...
as VW also states in its documentation,
It involves a 'stepper motor'.

When I removed the engine yesterday,
I was quite surprised.

It's a standard windshield wiper motor without a gearbox.
At the front, there is a multi-stage planetary gear system, and following that...
Planetary gearboxes feature a mode selection switch, similar to those found in VCRs.
This 'landing gear position switch' was the culprit behind all the stress in the landing gear assembly.

A little contact cleaner worked wonders!

I'm going to buy a motor from eBay anyway and use it to record the data of the switch, then I'll start searching for the manufacturer.
For comparison's sake: Similar switches are installed in almost every video recorder.
These cost approximately €10-€20 and no more than that.

The engine - and now brace yourself - costs €1200 at Volkswagen.

Anyway, thank you for your help.

Have a great weekend and best regards.

Marcus.
