Transporter T4: Rear Door Lock Malfunction Repair (Solution)

In T4 vehicles with central locking, improper operation can sometimes cause the lock mechanism to become jammed.

Cause:
This happens when the lock actuator is held in the "pressed" position while the vehicle is locked, and at the same time, the vehicle is unlocked using the central locking system or remote control. In this situation, the angled actuator lever is forced past its limit stop and becomes jammed. The actuator then stops functioning.

Solution:
To open the rear door, press the activation lever in the opposite direction (towards the license plate) until you hear a click indicating that it has been released.
