Hi there!

My girlfriend's Ford Galaxy, with a 1.9 TDI engine (code AHU), manufactured in 1998.

When driving uphill in the car under load and the error occurs, the boost pressure goes up to a maximum of 0.7 bar (display in 1551: 1700 mbar), and then it doesn't pull properly anymore. Restarting does not always improve the situation.

I replaced the N75 sensor with a new one, but there's no improvement. The charge air cooler system is leak-free, and all vacuum lines are new.

Error codes indicate:

1. Intake manifold pressure control differential.

2. Engine control unit (ECU) failure.

The second error either reappears quickly or cannot be removed at all.

What I noticed is that the atmospheric pressure in MWB 10 does not correspond to reality. Most recently, it was displayed as
0600 mbar in the 1551, compared to ~0969 mbar read from two reference vehicles. At that moment, the error could not be cleared. When reading the data again a little later, the pressure was 1122 mbar, and the error could then be cleared, and the car ran perfectly.

I'm not one to immediately suspect MSG, but there might be connections here, and I'd like to try swapping it out just to see.

I have installed the part number
028906021HC, and I have access to a part number 028906021BF} from a Golf 3 Variant TDI, manufactured in 1997 with an AHU engine.

Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

"Two questions about this:"

Are the two message formats compatible?

Can I modify it to be plug and play, or will I encounter problems with the WFS (Wireless File System)?

I'm more of a clumsy person, so please forgive me if I've missed something. Also, I only have the old 1551 version available, as my laptop unfortunately recently died.

Thank you, Rüdi.

Hello,

It's likely that your ambient pressure sensor is defective; the only solution is to replace the control unit or install a working sensor.

Quote:
2. Can I perform a plug & play upgrade, or will I encounter problems with the WFS?

Can you easily reset the adaptation channel 0 in the WFS control module using VCDS?

Best regards, Rainer.
