Hey,

"On a Golf IV with an ASZ engine, the intercooler was leaking, and we have a new one here (quite a bit of oil came out)."

The problem is:

I just checked and cleaned the two pressure hoses. I have a feeling they are nearing the end of their lifespan and probably aren't completely airtight anymore. It's also difficult to test with a compressor.

At "Freundlicher," the two pressure hoses together cost approximately 75 euros. That's simply too expensive for just two small pieces of hose.

Have you had any experience with these pressure hoses? Do these typically leak, or is it enough to just replace the four seals?

I have attached an image of the two parts.

Best regards and thank you.

Ah, that lovely, permanently leaky connector system. That's already garbage, even when it's new. icon_twisted.gif

Replace the seals and just accept that it will always be slightly leaky.

Alternative: Attach.

Thank you for the reply; (or Thank you for your answer;).

I haven't seen a single TDI yet where everything is completely dry...

Then I can leave the seals in place and reassemble it like that, right?

It should definitely be a little better. It doesn't cost the world, and I would go along with it if it's already falling apart. icon_wink.gif

Okay, let's see where I can quickly get those tomorrow.

Normally, a little bit of boost pressure should always escape, right?

Minimal, yes.

Is there maybe some kind of filler or something to make it seal?

He's constantly messing with me.

Forget about sealant; the minimal movement between the two parts will immediately make it leak again.

If it really sticks together and becomes impossible to separate.

Hmm, using glue is also a bit unprofessional...

Then I'll have to buy 4 seals from VW, even though they cost over 3 euros each.
