Car is running again. The MAF sensor was the problem.:-)

After installing the PSI box, I experienced a wave-like acceleration, and the maximum speed (V/max) dropped to only 180 km/h with initial acceleration (previously 215 km/h).
But there was no emergency landing. Just one incandescent bulb, which then burned out.
The workshop measured the mass airflow sensor (MAF). It read 290 mbar instead of 360 mbar.
While it's only 20%, the expert said that it couldn't be seen that way, and that the value was significantly lower.
I still had the LMM replaced.
Everything's been okay since then.
(I don't think I would have been able to free the mass airflow sensor myself after 95,000 kilometers.)
The workshop also mentioned that issues with the VTG adjustment being difficult to operate would be relatively uncommon in their experience.

Best, Alex.

Hi, as the name suggests, the mass airflow sensor measures mass, not pressure. Besides that, you haven't specified the operating conditions in which the reading of 290 (apples, pears, etc.) was obtained. Eggs ???) were measured. -> No meaningful data.
If that was the statement from the workshop, good night. icon_rolleyes.gif

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello,

Could it be that you meant "mg" instead of "mBar"?
The value was measured at idle, with the engine at its lowest RPM.
However, to assess the LMM's performance, measurements under load (full throttle at 3000 RPM) are necessary.

If the workshop only focused on this one idle speed value,
Can you say you're lucky, even if it was actually your fault?

Bye.

Michael.

Hello Rainer and... Michael.
Of course, my information was incorrect. I apologize 1000 times!!!
'In response to my comment that the numerical value might be speed-dependent, the workshop foreman said that 'this is an average value, and that...' '
'Messart' is common in workshops.
I probably just got lucky that it was 'only' the mass airflow sensor.
Next time, he will be cleaned. But even after just 20,000 km.
I have now deactivated the AGR.
Hose stuck, attached, and small. Go inside.
My subject. Feeling:
The car is louder and the ride is rougher. The engine speed drops back to idle more quickly. In the lowest RPM range, the torque seems even more pronounced. On the contrary, when running at full capacity, it's the opposite.
Did the AGR simply shut down due to pollution concerns?
Consider reactivating it.
The car ran 'with' a more harmonious feel.
Also, do the valves also clear themselves again at higher speeds, right?

GRU? Alex.

Hi Alex,

measured at idle speed: I find this a bit uncertain, as the value depends on the condition and general function of the EGR system (without EGR, I get much higher values).
Unfortunately, even with AGR, the intake manifold will still become clogged over time. In my case, it was extremely bad, with some areas showing deposits of 2-3mm or more after about 85,000 km.

Best regards, Rainer.
