Hello!
Perhaps someone can give me a tip.
I have a Volvo V70 with the same diesel engine as the Audi A6 4A, with 140 horsepower (AEL).
Customer complains about performance loss.
I've just taken a look at the values.
LMM at idle: approximately 450 mg.
Full throttle target: approximately 1000mg.
The boost pressure is also quite similar.
AGR remains constant at 5%.
The AGR pressure sensor has a 12V voltage, and I have 800 mbar of vacuum in the upper vacuum hose, but there is no vacuum at all in the lower hose that connects to the AGR valve.
Could it be because I'm not getting a vacuum, since the value is always stuck at a constant 5%?
Could this also be triggered by a faulty mass airflow sensor (MAF), which is now being used as a replacement value?
Thank you, Chris. A6 AFB

AGR is not functioning.
There's probably a blockage somewhere in the control cable. MfG. Michael

Hi!
No, the hoses are clear, but I'm not getting any vacuum from the converter anymore, which is needed for the EGR valve.
Is there always a vacuum here? Also, even at idle, is the control signal only 5%? A6 AFB

If there is vacuum and voltage at the converter, but nothing at the control hose, then the converter is defective. MfG. Michael

ok.
What confuses me is the constant pulse width ratio of 5%, or should I not expect to see 12V at the connector?
because normally the EGR valve is turned off at 5%, so there's no vacuum, or am I completely mistaken about that now ? A6 AFB

"Because if you have 12V at the connector, that clearly indicates 100% control. Normally, you would only measure around 5-6V with a multimeter, because the TV is idling at around 50%." MfG. Michael

Okay, thanks. I'll go ahead and replace that part; it costs a whopping €180 at Volvo. A6 AFB

Is it possible that the VAG version won't work? Has Volvo changed it so much? MfG. Michael

Just a quick question, which V70, the 1 or the 2?
I believe Volvo later significantly modified the AELs (d2525t).
Specifically in the V70/2 model with the MSA 15 control unit and the mass airflow sensor (MAF), a worn-out EGR valve immediately triggers an error message, unlike in VW vehicles.

The S80 model year was 1999.
Interestingly, I ran an actuator diagnostic on the older part, and since then, I've had normal vacuum pressure again, and everything is working perfectly.
Unknown why it's working again, software bug? A6 AFB

hi
In my opinion, you can always find these parts used. If you need anything, I have two Volvo TDI wrecks here!
Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:
