Fuel Temp Sensor Spoofing Possible in CR Engines?

Hello,
"With the 'cheap' tuning boxes for PD TDI engines, the signal from the fuel temperature sensor is usually manipulated or replaced with a fixed resistance value (often 150 ohms, which corresponds to approximately 100°C? Please correct me if I'm wrong)."
I haven't seen this principle applied in CR engines before. Is there no expectation of a performance increase here?

With CR engines, cheap control units can cause inaccurate rail pressure readings.

I only know about it in terms of temperature, even with CR engines.
In the newer generations of CR engines, the rail pressure is calculated. The rail pressure sensor is now only used to periodically verify the calculated rail pressure.

I've also seen those sensors that distort the rail pressure signal, but I haven't encountered a temperature sensor issue yet. Or, does the fuel not get as hot in common rail (CR) engines as it does in pump-injector (PD) engines?

Believe from Common Rail Generation 4.
At least, that's what a VW trainer claimed.
