Hello,

I already tried using VCDS today, but I couldn't find anything. Is it possible to disable the function in the comfort control module of the Ibiza 6L that causes the car to automatically relock 20 seconds after being unlocked via the remote, if no door is opened?

The background is that a friend's car has faulty microswitches. Until those switches are repaired, I want to use this small modification to prevent the annoying automatic locking from happening.

Because: Unlock the door (the car doesn't notice, thanks to the broken switch), put things/keys inside, go back into the house because you forgot something, come back >> Car locked, keys inside.

I only found this car lock deactivation feature that works at 15 km/h.

Deactivation is simply not intended for customer service purposes, therefore it is not possible using either VAS or VCDS.

Our service vehicles (emergency vehicles with fun, colorful lights) were already delivered with the re-locking function disabled, or were "modified" by icon_biggrin.gif to prevent them from doing so. This applies to T5 models as well as Passat 3BG and 3C models. Therefore, there must be a customer service solution for such cases - although it may not be available on the open market.

When I refer to customer service, I mean what is possible with the dealer/service provider, which is different from what you mean, which are special modifications. In some cases, modified control units are installed that do not meet the standard production specifications. A good example of this is in the current Golf/Passat, etc., the control unit for special functions, which implements features such as engine run-on switching, alarm system, and similar functions. icon_wink.gif

With them, there's even more that's 'offline,' right? icon_lol.gif icon_wink.gif

That may be true. There are differences between "service vehicles," which are typically purchased with more extensive modifications and are intended for a longer period of use, and those that are newly acquired in a "civilian" configuration through the procurement agency in large quantities at a low price, and which are usually returned to the market after about one year of use for more than the purchase price, for example, through customs auctions like Zollauktionen.de. Car rental companies operate on a similar principle.

"Civilian versions" typically correspond to standard production vehicles, but may differ in terms of equipment from common model versions available on the German market. "Service vehicles," however, usually go to a technical conversion company after delivery, which then installs the desired interior fittings and communication/signal technology. This also involves the installation of additional control units, which are actually based on the standard technology and must not interfere with it.

However, I believe that we had T5 vehicles that had already been modified, but still had the active automatic door locking system, which was then subsequently disabled through reprogramming. To my knowledge, the motor continuing to run even after the key was removed and the vehicle was locked could only be activated in the modified T5s. This depended on the sequence of starting the engine and activating the warning system, and on the fact that the key was removed while the warning system was still running. After that, the engine would initially remain on, but would then turn off when the warning system was subsequently deactivated. Alternatively, everything would remain on, and the vehicle would be left unattended and then locked using the remote central locking system. It is said that several vehicles were lost in service, which were left unattended with the engine running, the warning system activated, and the key still in the ignition, for the purpose of securing an operation.

The mentioned function is intended to be disabled, but only within the parameterization itself. Specifically, directly in the data set of the comfort control unit icon_wink.gif.
