Hi!
"I'm having a problem with my Golf 5 Plus 1.6 gasoline engine where the clutch pedal occasionally gets stuck in the down position. I have to pull it back up with my foot, and then it works normally again."
The error occurs approximately once when the "100" button is pressed.
What I've also noticed is that when pressing the pedal, you can hear a creaking sound coming from the transmission or the clutch slave cylinder.
I checked the cylinders, and everything is dry, including the hose.
Does anyone know this problem? A6 AFB

Hi Chris!
Try searching for ":wink:clutch pedal"; there are plenty of relevant documents available to read about it. }
To start with, I would check the receiver cylinder first.

In my opinion, these cylinders are only slightly better than a water pistol you'd find at a fairground.
I generally replace both master cylinders (unless it's a vehicle with a central release mechanism), or neither at all. Of course, you could also start by replacing the slave cylinder. However, the cost and effort of a second repair aren't worth it when the parts cost around €50-€60.
Additional costs. LG, Onkel BM

Thank you for the tips, I will replace both. It's quite annoying when the pedal suddenly gets stuck at the bottom. I'm just glad they didn't skimp on quality with the accelerator pedals .

If possible, a few photos would be great. If you disassemble the parts, you'll understand what is meant by "water pistol." LG, Onkel BM

I've replaced the two cylinders now; I'll keep an eye on it and see how it goes.
P.S. Replacing the master cylinder is not something for people with weak nerves . A6 AFB
