...It's a Golf 6 Bifuel 1.6 with an original (factory-installed) gas system from...
Landirenzo.
As far as I know, this is located between the engine control unit and the fuel injection system.
The device is switched on. The VW designation is J659.
The gas steering control unit is not included in the Autoscan; how can I read its fault memory? I am using the MicroCAN, which only supports CAN.
Speculation: The Landi Renzo control unit is directly connected to the diagnostic socket via a K-line. Does anyone know if it can be accessed using standard VAG protocols, or if special software from Landi Renzo is required?

Not really. For example, with Irmscher (Opel), I know that these original equipment manufacturer (OEM) engine control units (ECUs) are supposedly not compatible with Landisoftware (source: Gasfritze), or can only be programmed/read by Opel.
