DSG Problems Passat CC - Solved

Hello,

Today, I performed a diagnostic scan on my vehicle and found errors in the DSG (dual-clutch transmission) and DCC (dynamic chassis control) systems. I cleared both errors, and a few days later, I scanned the car again. The DCC error didn't reappear, but the DSG error did. I'm taking the car to the dealer next week. Can the dealer do anything about the DSG error?

I'm generally happy with the DSG, so this is a bit surprising.

If a change is already planned, I would go ahead and have it done.

The vehicle is now at the VW dealership. The diagnosis is a faulty mechatronic unit. This rules out an oil change as the cause of the problem. Now I'm waiting for the replacement part... I'm curious to see how long it will take!

At least it's almost 48,000 km. And it's not the first one that hasn't made it past 50,000 km.

For that price, it's a real bargain at approximately 2000 EUR (excluding installation), compared to the entire transmission, which costs around 6000 EUR.

One should generally advise against buying used vehicles with DSG transmissions if there is no warranty - unfortunately. }

As far as I know, spare parts are practically unavailable.

The car is back, and thankfully, it was fixed a bit faster than expected. They replaced the DSG mechatronic with a new one, along with a new filter and oil. What can I say, it drives much better now! The DSG now downshifts occasionally and shifts very smoothly, almost without any interruption in power delivery. And the gear changes now work without any jerking in the transmission. So, I hope it stays this way!
