Passat CC - DSG error (Solved)

Hello,

Today, I performed a diagnostic scan on my vehicle and found errors in the DSG (dual-clutch transmission) and DCC (dynamic chassis control) systems. I cleared both of these errors, and a few days later, I scanned the car again. The DCC error didn't reappear, but the DSG error did. I have an appointment with the dealer next week. Can he do anything about it because of the GDPR?

I'm generally satisfied with the DSG, so this is a bit surprising to me.

I'll have it checked out. Can I do it myself? I believe it needs to be replaced at 60,000 km anyway.

If a change is already planned, I would go ahead and have it done.

The vehicle is currently at the VW dealership. The diagnosis is a faulty mechatronic unit. This rules out an oil change as the cause of the problem. Now I'm waiting for the replacement part... I'm curious to see how long it will take!

At least almost 48,000 kilometers. This isn't the first one that hasn't survived beyond 50,000 km.

For that, it's a real bargain compared to the entire transmission, which costs around 6000 EUR, at approximately 2000 EUR (excluding installation, of course).

One should generally advise against used vehicles with DSG transmissions if there is no warranty - unfortunately.

AFAIK, spare parts are practically non-existent.

The car is back, and thankfully, it was fixed a bit faster than expected. The new DSG mechatronic, along with a new filter and oil, has been installed. What can I say, it drives much better now! The DSG now downshifts occasionally and shifts very smoothly, almost without any interruption in power delivery. And the gear changes now work without any jerking in the transmission. Therefore, I hope it stays that way!
