DSG Basic Settings, the following instructions apply to the use of our VCDS diagnostic systems (HEX-V2 or HEX-NET):

7-Speed DSG Basic Settings (Rear-wheel drive, gearbox 0AM)
Preconditions:
- No error stored in the TCM.
- Transmission oil temperature 30°C - 60°C. The temperature from G510 can be found in the measurement block 011.1.
- Gear selector in position "P", ignition ON, engine OFF, parking brake active.
- Brake pedal pressed (keep pressed throughout the procedure).
- Throttle not depressed.

Caution:
Please follow the following stepsandcomplete the defined test drive.
[Component selection]
[02 - Transmission]
[Basic settings - 04]
Measurement block 060
[Ok!]
[ON/OFF/CONTINUE] may be necessary.

The values should show 4 | 0 | 0 in the basic settings, this may take 2 - 5 minutes.
After
4 | 0 | 0 is displayed, start the engine and let it run in idle. If 4 | 0 | 0 is not displayed, do not start the engine (procedure incorrect or mechanical gearbox fault)!

It is normal for the gearbox to make noises during the adjustment of tolerances, please do not interrupt the basic setting if you hear "clicking" noises.
The values should now display 254 | 0 | 0 to confirm the successful basic setting after 3 - 6 minutes.
254 | 7 | 0 means "not finished" and 255 | 0 | 0 means "basic setting interrupted or failed".

[Finished, back]

Turn the ignition OFF, wait a few seconds, then turn the ignition ON.

[Error memory - 02]
Check and delete any potentially existing error codes.

[End connection, back - 06]
Now perform the defined test drive.

Defined test drive 7-speed DSG 0AM
Requirements:
- Gearbox oil temperature >30°C. The temperature from G510 can be found in the measurement block 011.1.
- Do not use the cruise control.

Procedure for the defined test drive after replacing the mechatronic/TCM and/or successful basic setting.
Each time with +/- gear lever (Tiptronic mode, applies to all subsequent steps)
and accelerate to the 2nd gear with partial throttle.
Stop and repeat the process.

Drive twice in reverse and shift back.
Drive in each forward gear for at least 3 seconds.

Now, drive in either A) or B) within the appropriate speed ranges:
A = Gears 4 or 6 (4th gear preferred)
B = Gears 3, 5 or 7 (5th gear preferred)
Maintain a speed range of 2000 - 4500 rpm and drive in A) and B) for at least one minute (2 minutes recommended).
Drive with alternating throttle positions, with at least one full throttle acceleration in each of A) and B).
The values in blocks 180.1 and 200.1 should confirm the adjustments to the clutches with values of 3 or greater. Incomplete adjustments will be corrected during normal operation.

Attention:
If the test drive cannot or cannot be performed as described, attempts will be made to perform the remaining adjustments during normal operation. Some control units do not require the use of the [ON/OFF/CONTINUE] buttons. If an error is displayed or the status of the basic setting does not revert to "ON" after clicking the corresponding button, continue and allow the procedure to complete without interaction.
It is normal that the gearbox makes noises during the adjustment of tolerances, please do not interrupt the basic setting if you hear "click" noises.

[Ok!] to activate the default settings.
Clacking noises from the gearbox are normal.
After the result is displayed indicating that everything is ok, click [Stop].
[Finished, back]

Turn off the ignition, wait 10s and turn on the ignition.
[Fault memory - 02]
Check and clear the fault memory.
[Finished, back]

Perform a test drive, check if everything is working normally and that no errors reappear in the gearbox control unit's fault memory.
