A4 1.8T AEB - No boost / power

The A4 is from 1997 and has the engine code AEB. The customer identified a defect in the product's performance and reported increased consumption.
Troubleshooting with VCDS revealed that the mass airflow sensor (MAF) was defective.
A further diagnosis revealed a duty cycle of 99% at the N75 valve across all engine speeds and load conditions, except when the engine was idling. Since this engine does not have a turbocharger pressure sensor, the pressure was measured using an indicator, which showed 0 bar of boost pressure.

The cause of the error was a broken wastegate linkage.
Since I couldn't find a can, I simply welded everything together.

Perhaps some people have made similar mistakes before.

I've also experienced issues with the 1.8 T engine before, but in that case, the wastegate valve was just very loose, not broken yet.

If I understand correctly, the bolts on the exhaust pipe have broken off.

I always get extremely scared of this kind of horror.

It looks like you're going to be allowed to remove the turbo,
to drill out the bolts.

Then get some welding equipment to heat up the nuts that secure the exhaust manifold.
