08-03-2015, 21:10 Subject: Adjustment cannot be reset. |

I have made adjustments to the image processing control unit A5 on a Passat B8:
- Steering wheel vibration not active
- Warning intensity: Steering wheel vibration is weak.
Now, I would like to reset this again. However, when I want to reset it, I get the message "Invalid value range", even though I want to set it back to the original settings (on and medium).
I have used the software version 14.10.1.
How can I reset it?
VCDS Autoscan Diagnostic Tool:
Address A5: Front/Front Camera (R242) Label file: None

I also have the log file from the DEBUG folder:

Address A5:3Q0 980 653, Recoded (ADP system mode, Lane Departure Warning active to Lane Departure Warning inactive)

Good evening,
Always save a vehicle scan when performing such actions, ensuring that nothing is missed.
Then copy the entire code string without modifying it (where you might accidentally click something else or where something incompatible might still be changed).
Best regards, Rainer

However, I made this adjustment (see image). I also didn't go into the code to make these changes, but directly into the adjustment settings. I was able to modify the adjustment, but I can't set the original value because the message always appears: "Value invalid". I should have the option to revert to the original settings.
Should I perhaps make a copy of a control unit? Or do I have to go to the workshop and reset the control unit to the factory settings?

Hi,
Please provide the complete coding of the control unit (screenshots), the overview of adjustment channels, and specifically the variations of the two relevant adjustment channels here.
Maybe we'll see something.

I have now created a representation of the adjustment channels and also a Screenshot of the encoding.
- In System Mode, Lane Keeping Assist, the setting "Steering Vibration Not Active" is. Original, the setting "Steering wheel vibration active" was included.
- When the warning intensity is set to "Weak", the lane departure warning system is active. The original setting is "Medium". Additionally, there are options for "Strong" and "Adjustable via Menu".
It should also be possible to revert to the original settings. However, unfortunately, the message "invalid value range" appears.
Could it be due to the VCDS software?

With Beta 15.2.0, I already tried the same thing. What else caught my attention:
If you adjust the steering wheel vibration to "Weak" and "Inactive" settings, and it still vibrates even though these settings are already active, Other settings are not possible.

I had already asked about something else, not a photo with the long code.
That was already in the scan.
One more thought:
- Complete encoding of the control unit (screenshots), every byte/bit with label;
- the overview for adjustment channels,
- the variations of the two relevant adjustment channels;
It might be possible to figure out what is blocking the change in adaptation.
Have you submitted both changes together, or individually? Dto, how did you make the first change?

I made the changes individually. So, I clicked on the pop-up window and then confirmed.
I have a question, where can I find the overview of the adjustment channels? I have already made a diagram. That's the overview, right?
And where can I find the different variations?

Hello,
I have now deleted n-1 of your images. Why?
Because everyone is showing the same thing, namely no text for the bits and the line with the green bytes ( 3) already contains everything. Another thing that isn't visible in the deleted images is...
Please post your Coding.log and Adaption.log files from the Debug directory.
Greetings, Rainer

I had asked about it afterwards, but at the time the question was asked, it was not clear that there were no labels for these specific code types.

Attached are the coding logs that I created using versions 14.10 and Beta 15.2. There are no configuration logs in the Debug folder.
The modifications are clearly apparent as encodings, although it is clear that they are modifications.
On Sunday, March 8, 2015, at 18:27:17:26138, I first changed the steering wheel vibration from "Strong" to "Weak" using the 14.10 setting. Afterwards, I tried to revert the setting. But one can see that it didn't work, as it constantly went from weak to medium, from weak to strong, etc.
The whole process only works in one direction. But if I want to reverse it, the control unit prevents it. I really don't know what to do anymore. Is it maybe due to the software? Do I need to wait for a newer version, or should I contact the software developer directly?

Thank you for the logs, I've written an email and will see what happens.
There will probably be an update soon!
Best regards, Rainer
