Golf V MFA: Specs, Problems & Review

Hello.

I have a Golf V (year 2005) and I want to retrofit an instrument cluster with MFA (Multi-Function Display). I might be able to get one from a 2008 vehicle, part number 1K0920874B, which includes a PIN code. Is this instrument cluster compatible with the WFS (likely referring to a specific control unit or system)?

Can someone tell me which pins I can connect to for a quick setup to check if the AI is selling me a good product (without pixel errors)?

If the new AI system has a range of more than 100 kilometers, setting your mileage will become difficult. Please keep this in mind, as Volkswagen can only support this function up to 100 kilometers, and only once, with an increase.

I recommend using a system from before 2006, as it will be much easier to deal with.

Also nein. The WFS is the same as always. Only a specific byte is different. If you patch the dataset, it works without a key. It's similar with WFS V. Don't believe everything that various self-proclaimed GURUs spread.

I also want to install a different keyless entry system with MFA in my car, but I don't have the login credentials for the old one. I already have a new keyless entry system with a login code.

You could have the AI specialists at Volkswagen handle the switchover. They can train you on the new combination instrument with the connected tester, and that would probably be the easiest way to do it.
The car dealership cannot tell you your PIN directly.
You could also download the dump and upload it. Then I would tell you your PIN. But of course, that's nonsense. Because if you can do that, then you can also read your own PIN yourself..

I can extract it manually from the dump for the 3B0 and 1J0 control units. I can also do it for the standard 501 unit and the shifted 503 unit.
The easiest option for the original poster would be to either extract the PIN code using specialized equipment connected via OBD, or have it retrieved and programmed by a Volkswagen dealership.
Furthermore, you could overwrite the existing "Immo Block" data with data from the old keyless entry system. This would eliminate the need for pairing. However, to do this, you need to know the offsets of the 1K0 module and have the same equipment.
The person asking the question probably can't do that either.

Do you happen to have a 1K0 dump available for quick access, perhaps for expanding my horizons?

And how do I do that with the dump? Also, I can't access channel 50 in the WFS.
