Hello!

My AUDI (see below) now has a mileage of 11,100 km. Recently, I checked the remaining mileage until the next service. Oh dear, the next service is already due in 1,700 km.
It's not used for extreme short-distance driving, nor for particularly long distances (except for two vacation trips). So, it's used in a completely normal way.
I'm planning a trip for Easter (approximately 2,000 km) and I'm really worried that I might have to go in for a service appointment while I'm on vacation.

Has anyone had similar experiences?
Can I wait until after the vacation?

Best regards, D.

Hi,

Normally, the WIV 3000 system warns you about the upcoming service 3000 km in advance, or is it different with Audi?
However, if the car is frequently started in cold conditions, then the interval is acceptable.

The vehicle was neither 'revved' when cold, nor did the upcoming service warning appear before reaching 3,000 km.
After the vacation, I have an appointment with the 'friendly' people who want to check the 'coding' for the WIV.

In the latest issue of 'Gute Fahrt,' it was reported that WIV (Vehicle Identification Number) is only possible for vehicles with the code QG1 in the data carrier.
I'm going to check that right away.

Keep you updated.

Best regards, D.

So, I just checked the owner's manual. When you turn on the ignition, it should display a reminder for a few seconds if the next service is less than 2,000 kilometers away.
My service is supposed to be due in 1,700 km after the last one, but I haven't received any notification on the display yet.

Best regards, D.

The shortest recommended oil change interval for this vehicle is 15,000 km or one year, whichever comes first.

Your workshop probably coded something incorrectly!

Regards,

Manuel.

So, I finally went to the 'friendly' place yesterday.
Channels 42, 43, and 44 were read.
According to the 'experts,' everything was fine.
However, no one could explain why, given the mileage of 13,000 km, the remaining distance should now be limited to a maximum of 600 km.
I was then advised to ignore the warning light and to change the oil sometime in the fall. It wouldn't hurt to do that.
I then went to another Audi dealer because I wasn't satisfied with the answer I received.
However, the (Audi Center Braunschweig) only listened to the history being described. No one wanted to actually look at it. They simply stated that it was a dynamic interval and that the total distance was perfectly acceptable. If an oil change is requested, then I should just have it done.
I don't quite understand that.
I'll wait and see for now.

Best regards, D.
