Hello Tom,
Given the current speculation surrounding 1.6 TDI engines, I would recommend opting for a 2.0 TDI engine when purchasing a vehicle.

Here's a question about the 2.0 CR-TDI engine with 103 kW/140 hp:
Is there less speculation surrounding the 2.0 CR-TDI engine (WITHOUT AdBlue!!!) compared to the 1.6 CR-TDI engine (regarding increased fuel consumption and/or reduced performance after the recall campaign)?
Both the 1.6 CR-TDI and the 2.0 CR-TDI engines are supposed to receive a different software update.
The 1.6 CR-TDI is supposed to receive an additional flow straightener.
BY THE WAY: These flow sensors for air mass meters have been around for several years, in both gasoline and diesel engines, and are ABSOLUTELY NOT new!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS: I'm asking about the 2.0 CR-TDI because I own a Touran 1T3 with a 1.6 CR-TDI engine (and I am COMPLETELY satisfied with it as it is NOW). However, if my car consumes significantly more fuel and/or has a significantly worse performance after the recall, I am already considering buying another Touran 1T3 (manufactured up to 8/2015) with the 2.0 CR-TDI engine.
