Hello everyone,

Recently, the check engine light illuminated on the instrument panel. When the error memory was read, it indicated the fault code P0010: camshaft position timing - malfunction.

I deleted the error message, but it reappeared after the next restart.

The car isn't going into limp mode, but it feels weaker around the 2000 rpm range.

Engine code: CDAA, chip tuning for the last 30,000 km, total mileage approximately 120,000 km.

Should I take it to the workshop immediately, or are there any DIY solutions I can try?

Best regards,
Dennis.

According to my research, there was or is a free service campaign offered by Volkswagen regarding this issue.

I would first inquire with the icon_biggrin.gif to see if the vehicle is affected or was ever affected.

Hi,

I did some research and came across the Audi campaign 15D6. It specifically affects my engine type and production year (05/09).

I did some troubleshooting on my own. I noticed that the N205 valve was not being activated during the actuator diagnosis. I looked into it more closely and immediately found the solution.
I'm not very confident that I will be able to get this replaced under warranty (see picture) icon_smile.gif.

Can I still drive with this? I have a long trip planned for next week, from Aachen and back. However, I'm not sure if I'll receive the part by then.

Greetings,
Dennis.

Hello,

If your vehicle is affected by this issue, please take it to a service center and you will receive a new camshaft adjuster.

Why does it usually not matter to the workshop? / Because Audi pays - that's all that matters.

Hi,

I called the Seat dealer earlier. According to the VIN, my vehicle is not affected.
The new solenoid valve has been installed, the vehicle is running normally again, and the error memory is clear. icon_smile.gif

Lucky me, only 20 euros for the replacement part.

Best regards,
Dennis.
