Clutch Kit with Dual Mass Flywheel for VW Golf 3 AFN

Since I'm in the process of renovating my 1997 Golf 3, I signed up because of the many helpful pieces of information available here.

I've been looking into clutches since yesterday, and I'm now confused by the clutch options available. I'm either finding clutches that are 220mm or clutches that are 228mm.

Since I found a Sachs 228mm clutch kit (including a DMF) at a good price, I wanted to know if it would fit without any issues. You can't really find helpful posts online because they usually focus more on tuning than on the clutch itself.

I don't want to install an EMS (Engine Management System), nor do I want to do any other major modifications.

Data about the Golf:

Volkswagen Golf 3 Cabrio, manufactured in 1997.
AFN engine / CYP gearbox (5-speed).

=> 220 mm => I can't find a clutch master cylinder (CMC) anywhere online for that size.

This morning, I also called VW again to be sure, and according to AKTE, my Golf 3 has a 220mm clutch.

Of course, I could let the ZMS do that now, but since everything is open anyway.


With a LUK replacement kit, the torque specifications (NM values) cannot be found anywhere.
