Hello,

ich hab einen Passat 3BG Variant aus 2005 mit org. AHK.

I'm looking for the part number for the mounting plate where the pivoting socket for the trailer hitch is attached. I broke off the socket.
According to several friendly Volkswagen dealers, I have to buy a complete tow hitch because the mounting plate is not available separately! icon_eek.gif icon_eek.gif icon_eek.gif

Perhaps someone here is familiar with this problem or knows the part number for it?

A new AHK (presumably a type of equipment) for €1500 is definitely out of the question; the last resort would be to build something ourselves.

Best regards from the Baltic Sea.

Faxes.

I don't want to take away your hope. But I also believe that this part isn't available individually. However, before spending €1500 on a replacement part for a 3BG from VW, several alternatives come to mind:

1. Scrap yard.
2. Online auction.
3. Fabricate the sheet metal yourself.
4. Find someone who can fix this piece of metal.
5. Search for the original AHK manufacturer (e.g., Westfalia, Oris...). They might be able to help.

To put a few suggestions out there...

My first thought would be to build something myself; it's not a big deal, and no one will see it if the outlet is on top. Maybe it could also simply be welded and reinforced.

It took a long time, but they do exist after all.

Here is the part number for the mounting plate:

3B0 092 736 W - Price: €22
